"King is a big lover," reports his foster mom. "He has those eyes that say 'I adore you' from across the room." King is about 7.5 years old and, although he's been on a healthy diet, he's still a bit hefty at 95 pounds. He's got his eye on a perfect 85 pounds by spring. This handsome boy came to rescue after his lifelong owner died suddenly and there was no one to care for him. It's clear he has been well loved and cared for.
King is housetrained, knows sit, down, wait and is overall very obliging. He loves a little treat now and then, is as good as gold with free roam of the house when you are away and never dreams of getting on the furniture. He seldom barks, rides quietly in the car, enjoys a gentle walk and relishes his chew bones. King prefers that other dogs keep their paws off his things and we think he might do best as your only canine love at home.
A home that is on the quieter side that would enjoy a Lab who likes to take a daily walk around the neighborhood, snooze in the sunshine and sniff around the yard would be perfect for King. At some point in his life he had an injury to a tendon on a rear leg. He wears a customized brace to stabilize the leg so he can be out and about comfortably. He very patiently lays down for you to put it on and take it off. King was recently thoroughly examined by an orthopedic specialist who was pleased at how well he is doing. He very much enjoyed his appointment with all the touching and being fussed over . . . he about fell asleep while being poked and prodded!
It's clear lovable King was always cherished by his owner. We feel he is surely hoping from the other side of the Rainbow Bridge that King will continue to be as special to someone as he once was to him. |
