Stella (formerly Poppy)

Stella & familyStella (formerly Poppy, one of our five flower puppies) was adopted by Helen and Mario and their two beautiful daughters who were just about beside themselves waiting for Stella to show up this morning! She will be a MUCH loved and spoiled member of their lovely home.

Stella's new family was all ears about how to care for her, and is excited about bringing in a trainer to teach them how to be a wonderful set of guardians to this sweet bundle of joy.

Kate

Kate & familyKate (pictured on the right) was adopted by her new family Gary and Dawn, and their 3 boys and new canine brother, Gabe. Sweet and petite Kate has been a well loved family member, but circumstances have changed and she needed a new home.

Gary and Dawn were looking for a new family member and playmate for Gabe. When we arrived Kate and Gabe immediately started to play and there was even some flirting going on! Gabe will certainly enjoy showing Miss Kate the ropes of the new digs — there is a lot of space to play, and you can tell how well-loved the family furry siblings are! Kate is already settling into her new and wonderful life.

Koda

Koda with Mary & BobKoda was adopted by Mary and Bob. This sweet young girl — she is only one — was surrendered to us because she is a little timid. When she met her new parents, she was all smiles and wagging tail. Koda is a stunning little lady, and very sweet. She can look forward to a life of calmness and lots of fun lab stuff in the mountains — and being the center of attention in her new home where her parents are committed to helping grow her self confidence.

Desi (formerly Jet)

Desi with Ken, Kim, Anya & LuciDesi (formerly Jet), was adopted today by Ken, Kim and Anya and canine sister, Luci — an 11 month old Bouvier.

Desi is a very sweet, very active and playful 9-month-old lab who was looking for a home with a work from home mom, a human sibling and a canine sibling. He hit the JACKPOT!!!!  Ken and Kim are willing to work with him on his manners and obedience and are committed to proving a loving home for him and his canine sister, Luci (how cute is Luci and Desi?????). He is SO excited to be in his forever home. His human sister, Anya, was excited to learn that he likes to spoon at night, so we wonder where he got to sleep last night during his first night at home.

This picture was taken in front of the Christmas tree — Desi is truly blessed to be with his new forever family during the holiday season.

Ronan (formely Mac)

Ronan & JacobRonan (formerly Mac), was adopted by wonderful new first-time dog guardian Jacob. Once Jacob heard this BIG guy’s story and need for a forever home, he completely rearranged his life to take in this wonderful Lab into his life and home. When he came to pick up Ronan he had all the supplies he needed and more! — the crate in the SUV firmly secured, elevated food bowls, nylabones, appropriate food and lots of love. Jacob is truly Ronan's dad — he has him at the center of his universe.  And THAT is a happy ending — or beginning.

Don't they look like they have always been together?

Mulligan

Mulligan & ShilohWe adopted Mulligan in May 2004 after he'd been abandoned at a veterinarian hospital at 6 months old. Safe Harbor had taken care of emergency surgery to remove an obstruction in his intestine, and since then he's been the happiest, healthiest dog! He loves sleeping on the deck on a sun lounger, riding in the car, playing with his sister Shiloh (he's still got lots of energy at 4!) and as you see from the picture posing for our yearly Holiday card! He's the handsome guy up front.

While he's never quite understood Shiloh's love of fetching tennis balls, he is obsessed with stalking and chasing rabbits on his twice daily walk. When he spots one he will stand beautifully at point...

Thank you Safe Harbor for giving our big Mulligan a second chance.  I've sent a small donation via your website to help another dog in need find a forever home.

Sam

SamSam was adopted by me on March 29, 2005. I retired and Sam and I moved to Oswego, New York. On October 11th, we took possession of our new home. As you can see from the photograph, Sam has adjusted to being a New Yorker. He enjoys his walks along Lake Ontario and chasing squirrels that wander into his backyard. I am very grateful to Safe Harbor Lab Rescue for allowing me to adopt Sam. He has been an absolute joy and a great companion.

Sincerely,
Frank

Bear (formerly Onyx)

Bear with Erin & JonSweet Bear (formerly Onyx) was adopted by his new parents, Jon and Erin. They have been waiting for the right time and the perfect lab to cross their path to add to their family.  Bear is the most fabulous, perfect lab — he is sweet, LIVES to play with his canine pals, and is a total people-lover. He is going to live the doggie dream with his new family. Jon and Erin are very active and he will get lots of walks, hiking, trips to the dog park and trips to the mountains.  Jon and Erin work opposite shifts so someone is almost always home to play with these lucky boys!!!!!

Bear (left) is pictured with his new family - Jon, Erin and canine brother, Bohde.

Molly

MollyGorgeous six year old Molly (formerly Yeller) was adopted by her new mom, Meredith.

Meredith has fostered Molly since the late night she was driven up to Denver by wonderful rescuers Barb and Paul.

Molly was found running down a country highway looking for her person.  We suspect she may have been dumped by a frustrated hunter, and she had recently had a litter of pups judging by her physical condition.  Meredith has loved on her, and provided a wonderful home — which Molly has settled right into. Now that Miss Molly has been spayed and vaccinated her adoption day has finally come! Meredith and Molly were an instant family, and it is clear to see that they love each other.
