Junior

Junior & familyJunior was adopted today by Brock and Sarah and their sweet lab mix Stella of Castle Rock. Junior came to us when his family faced hardships that forced them to find him a new home. At one point in his life, Junior was involved in a traffic accident in which the unsecured crate he was in (in the bed of a truck) was thrown out of the truck. Luckily he survived. When faced with serious financial problems but unwilling to take him to the shelter, his family called Safe Harbor where Junior entered our foster program. Foster mom Stephanie worked with this little guy to help him settle in and acclimate to a new life. He did great working with her and her family, and a few days later Sarah and Brock decided he was the perfect addition to their little family!

We know that Junior will have a wonderful life with his new sister Stella and his wonderful parents!

Molly

Molly & familyMolly was adopted by her new family this evening! This very feminine and gorgeous young girl came to us from a local shelter.

Steve, Sandi, Holly and Brandon were looking for the perfect addition to their family — and little Miss Molly was the perfect choice. Everyone was so excited to meet her, and she made quite an impression. She is really excited about the 2 kids to play with and the great yard and having a family that wants to take care of here forever — just what she deserves!!!

As our adoption coordinator was leaving, the family was headed out to get Molly's supplies: a big wire crate to use with a pillow bed, her own new leash and collar, excellent dog food, bowls, etc. What a wonderful beginning to the rest of her life in her forever home with a family that wants her!

Thank you to Pat and Kevin for lavishing love on Molly while she awaited her forever home.

Annie

Annie & KirkAnnie was adopted by her thrilled new dad Kirk in Greeley tonight! This darling and sweet 7 year old girl came to us from a rural shelter where she was overlooked for months because she was a little older than many people want. The shelter coordinator called our wonderful intake team and we got her into our program last month. Our medical team went the extra mile and got her tested, took care of some health issues and confirmed she was spayed. Annie was lovingly fostered by Wil, who took excellent care of her and made very detailed notes for her new dad to help ease her transition.

Bless Kirk's heart — he went out and got everything we told him he needed. When Annie arrived, she had a wonderful big wire crate to use with a BIG pillow bed if she so desires, a very pretty lavender leash and matching collar, excellent dog food, bowls and other stuff. Kirk was ready for his darling girl. Our adoption coordinator learned that Kirk works at a dog friendly office, so Annie will be able to be with her dad most of the time! What a wonderful beginning to the rest of her life in her forever home!

Larry

Larry & JillWe love "foster failures"! Handsome Larry unwittingly found his forever home the day he entered our foster program.

Larry was found as a stray by some good Samaritans earlier this year. They kept him for awhile in their busy home while they tried hard to find his people and failing that, they called us. We gladly took this amazing boy into our program, where he was so lucky to be placed with foster mom Jill who has realized she could not let him go — he is just too perfect!

Larry is really grateful to all of the SHLR volunteers who helped get him home!

Humphrey (formerly Marley)

Marley & familyMarley — now Humphrey — was adopted today by Karen of Denver. Humphrey came to us from local shelter where for some reason he was overlooked for weeks by potential adopters. The shelter contacted our amazing intake team who took him and discovered what an absolute gem this young boy is!

Humphrey immediately impressed his wonderful foster parents Gaby and Carlos. He was well mannered, great in the house and housebroken! They did such a great job with him, and Humphrey is very grateful!

Karen was looking for her first dog when she contacted SHLR. We felt that she and Humphrey would work well together, and it was a love match at first sight! We know that Humphrey will have a wonderful life with Karen and her friends, and we are so excited for them!

Moo

MooGorgeous Moo Daeng went to his forever home today with John and Susan of Colorado Springs. John came up to Denver with Cosmo to meet Moo and see if they were compatible…and they were!

Sweet Moo came to us when his former mom's schedule changed and she could no longer spend any time with him. Moo is a big, happy and sweet boy who feels his sole purpose in life is to chase balls, carry balls, and be around balls. He is looking forward to lots of time hanging out with his new parents and sister Cosmo and playing hard and looking for balls, of course!

Moo was very lucky to be fostered by Patsy, who loved him and really took great care of him. Patsy is very involved in SHLR as she also serves as our transportation coordinator...so big thanks to Patsy from Moo! Moo is also grateful to our intake, medical, foster and adoption team for making sure his transition was a smooth one.

Cooper (formerly Atlas)

Atlas and familyMarvelously settled and well-behaved Atlas — now Cooper — went to his forever home today with parents Pam and John and their two other lab boys Rebel and SHLR alumnus Jake. This great guy came to us from a family that dearly loved him, but circumstances changed dramatically when his dad was deployed recently to Iraq and they needed to give him up.

Cooper was well taken care of during his short stay with us by the kind people at City Bark Lodo. Cooper is also grateful to our intake, transport and medical and foster team for making sure his transition was a smooth one.

Sam

Sam STAYED at his forever home today! This darling young boy came to us in early February from a rural shelter where his time was up. His devoted foster (now permanent) parents — Meghan and Todd - drove across the state to save him, and whisked him away and into their foster home where he learned what a loving home is like. And Meghan and Todd loved him so much, they decided to give him his forever home!

Sam loves to be with his people, to hang out on the couch and just be with them. He is a smaller boy — just a little over 50 pounds, and a real love bug.

Sam is grateful to all of the SHLR volunteers who helped get him home!

Here is Sam with dad Todd at his adoption today! What a great kiss.

Barley

Barley & familyBarley went to his forever home today with Melissa, Dana and new canine sister Gizmo! Adorable and young — only 10 months old — Barley came to us from a shelter where he was surrendered by his former owner. He was very thin and needed some dental work. He still needs to gain 10 or more pounds! Barley is a sweetheart, very gentle and playful. He and Gizmo immediately hit it off and were romping through the house and yard having a blast!

Pictured here is Barley, Melissa, Dana and Gizmo at Barley's new home.

Bailey

BaileyBailey went home today with her new mom Janie. Adorable 7 or 8 year old Bailey came to us from a shelter where she ended up after one too many escapes from a backyard. We think Bailey may have just needed a little more attention and love — which she immediately began receiving once she entered our foster program. She needed a healthier diet to make her coat shine and lots of love and attention. She got all of that from her wonderful foster parents, and now from awesome new mom Janie.
