A ten-month-old bundle of joy, energy and enthusiastic fun, little Miss Hazel is all a young pup can be! At her current 43.5 pounds, she needs to plump up a good five more pounds. Hazel was picked up as a stray and ended up in a small crowded shelter, certainly no place for a young playful people-loving Lab.
Hazel, with her beautiful amber eyes and engaging personality, quickly made herself comfortable in her foster home. Her foster mom reports that Hazel is a quick study and has already learned sit and down. Sophie, her foster sister, is delighted to have such a playful house guest. Hazel does love to play and play, and play some more with other dogs, and is happy to let others be “top dog.” An A+ student in her best subjects, Recess and Fetching Tennis Balls, she plans to add “Greeting with Paws on Floor” and “Leash Manners” to her studies. She’s not been around cats.
While Hazel does relish romping, after she’s had some playtime, she loves to curl up and snuggle with you. Since she is still a puppy and can be a bit mouthy when excited, a family without younger children will be best.
A typical young energetic Lab, Hazel will thrive with an active family who will provide her with kind leadership and structure, provide positive-oriented training, give her lots of consistent daily exercise and, of course, unconditional love. Patience and a sense of humor with puppy missteps is a must!
When you meet Miss Hazel we’re sure you’ll agree with her foster mom: “She’s a sweetheart!”
