So much has changed for this five-year-old gorgeous hunk of a Lab in the last few months that he now needs to update his resume. Big Bart, with his occupation listed as ‘unemployed stray residing at address unknown’; he now proudly goes by the name of Humphrey and is gainfully employed as a full-time forever family Lab. He shares his forever residence with his wonderful new parents, Pam and Russ, and loves nothing more than joining mom for their daily walk and then hanging out at home and entertaining family and friends.
Pam and Russ sent us and update on handsome Humphrey: We adopted Humphrey on Memorial Day. He is one amazing dog, and my husband, Russ and I love him so much. He has had some ear issues which caused him to have vertigo and a lopsided smile before we got him, but the wonderful Dr. Holly Knor at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital has made sure he is continuing to be a rock star and infection free. He loves everyone he meets and loves to give kisses. We go on a 3-4 mile walk every single day, and he loves to “hunt” for bunnies. You can all rest peacefully knowing that the bunnies are in tow because of his watchful eye! He is such a character and we love finding out new things about Humphrey. He likes to eat his dinner, not in a bowl, but on our kitchen tiled floor. He loves a bath and sits right down in the tub to get pampered. He prefers to sleep on the floor (I bought him 2 beds that he’d have nothing to do with) right next to me or my husband. He never complains and he smiles his lopsided smile frequently. He adores children and older people. We had my granddaughter’s 5th birthday party the week after we adopted Humphrey, and he found that the middle of the chaos was the best place to be. He relished all the pettings and hugs and kisses bestowed on him by everyone who came–young and old. We waited 2 years for the perfect lab after our last SHLR Lab, Angel, died of old age (14 or 15 years old!). We adore our new baby and he feels the same way about us! Thank you SHLR for giving us the opportunity to be the best parents for our baby, Humphrey.
