Buddy is a show stopping seven-year-old chocolate Lab. His silky coat is glowing, and those magnificent golden-brown eyes, are full of love and confidence, thanks to Joan and Steve. They stepped in and awarded him the care and attention that Buddy had never had before. What you see in the photo is what unconditional love can do to turn a life around.
“Murphy (now Buddy) arrived at Safe Harbor in summer and was in an undesirable condition with infection, skin allergies and depression due to neglect. If anyone overlooked this guy for adoption because of the shape he was in, they missed out on an amazing companion. We are blessed he is ours; look at this handsome guy now! Through Safe Harbor’s quick response with vet care and some continued vet treatments Buddy has turned the corner. In the short time we’ve had him he has learned several commands, walks off-leash (when allowed), and can catch out-fielded tennis balls that would match the pro’s (and that’s without front teeth).
We are learning Buddy’s love language of grunts and groans accompanied by his wiggle butt. He is very happy with a well-loved life which he probably missed out on his previous seven years. A word to the wise…don’t judge a dog by its cover.”
