Years ago, shortly after Safe Harbor was born, I adopted another blind, chocolate dwarf Lab, his name was Chocolate and he was my best buddy. So when SHLR was contacted by the Humane Society of Pikes Peak about a blind Lab she called me to ask if I would foster him ~ she knew I loved ’the blind ones’ and would obviously say yes, asking me was just a formality.
When he arrived at Safe Harbor immediately called me and excitedly told me that not only was he nearly blind, but that he was a dwarf! The writing was pretty much on the wall at that point.
Charlie, from the moment he arrived here has been a constant source of comic relief. Insanely happy all the time and a champion snuggler he has slipped seamlessly into the household and made the holiday season this year especially merry and bright.
