We met Cooper (Safe Harbor was calling him Atlas) in March of 2008. He has been our constant companion and friend for the past 8 ½ years. Earlier this month he became very ill and was diagnosed with lung cancer. He died peacefully in our home on Friday, October 7. He was without a doubt the best dog we have ever had. We missed him terribly, as does his little brother, Dozer, who is 5 years old and is blind.
Cooper was featured in your 2008 calendar in April. His bio on that page reads: “Cooper’s motto is ‘Let’s go do something!’ It might be chasing the ball or Frisbee, riding in the truck with his head out the window, or lounging around the campsite with his 2 Lab brothers, Rebel and Jake, who are also rescue Labs. He likes to keep his human friends warm at night by allowing them to share his king size bed. Cooper was rescued from Safe Harbor in March of 2008, and loves his third and forever home.”
Cooper was also pictured in the Honorable Mentions in the 2015 calendar with his two brothers, Jake and Rebel.
