The 2025 Safe Harbor Lab Rescue Calendar Contest is here!


Every year we sell out of these calendars!  Let’s do it again but please make sure to read all of the guidelines below.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Photos must be horizontal/landscape orientation with NO people. Labrador Retrievers only, but doesn’t have to be a SHLR or rescue dog. NO vertical/portrait orientation photos will qualify.
  • Please submit digital images only in JPG format (HEIC and other file types NOT accepted).
  • Photos will be cropped/printed at 11″ x 8.5″ so set your camera to the HIGHEST resolution. High resolution cell phone photos are welcome if they are large enough. Check the size of some test shots, before doing your photo shoot.
  • The minimum pixel dimensions must be 3750 pixels wide by 2125 pixels tall, which is 250 pixels per inch resolution for an 11 x 8.5 photo. File size maximum is 6MB. Typically anything under 1MB isn’t large enough.
  • $5 per entry, no limit! Payment via PayPal Link Below.
  • You can submit the same photos as previous years (previous monthly and honorable mention winning photos are excluded).
  • The photo must have been taken by you or someone in your family; you cannot submit professional shots taken by someone else.
  • Please name your photos in this format: YourLastNameFirstInitial_DogsName_01.jpg (change the number if you have multiple photos of the same Lab, _02, _03 and so on). Example: SmithJ_Rover_01.jpg, SmithJ_Rover_02.jpg
  • Deadline is June 30, 2024. Please note there will be NO extension and if you submit after this date they will not be included.
  • Winners will be notified in mid-July. Winners for the cover and each of the months will be asked to provide a caption (100 words max) within 3 days of being notified as a winner.
  • 12 months, 1 cover and 12 Honorable Mention winners all receive a FREE calendar.
  • Calendar will be available at SHLR Events and on our Website. They first go on sale mid-August 2024.

Each Photo Entry is $5.00 per submission/photo.  No Limit!

Please submit payment via the PayPal link and your submission via the online submission form below.  Please note that the form limits submissions to 3 photos no larger than 6MB each.  You can always email additional photos to the photo contest committee directly at There is no limit to how many you submit.
