Another lucky Lab won the golden years lottery when Crystal and Doug decided to make 13-year-old Frank the newest resident of what they fondly refer to as their “retirement home for dogs.” Frank’s new siblings include 11ish-year-old Safe Harbor alumna, Dakota, who greeted him with a welcome wink and the secret SHLR pawshake when he arrived. He may not get a gold watch, but Frank will surely receive the royal treatment in his new home where there’s always more than enough love to go around, and the biggest problem he will face is deciding which luxurious dog bed to pick next.

Frank took a little time out from napping to send us an update on his retirement:

“Hi, I’m Frank. I’ve been through a lot. My family loved me so much that when they suffered some really hard times and lost their home, they couldn’t let me go. When I got a little chubby and started having some health problems, they released me to a partner of Safe Harbor. Safe Harbor scooped me up and got me the help I needed. I just wanted a home with soft dog beds and some people to follow around so I don’t feel alone. Doug and Crystal came and brought me to their old doggy home. It didn’t take me long to get to know my brother and sisters. I’m still a little unsure, especially if mom and dad leave for a while, but I think living in Wyoming where things move a little slower is right up my alley. As you can see in the pics, KONGS are the BEST!!”

Our thanks to Crystal and Doug for finding room in their huge hearts and a welcoming home for this beautiful senior pup in need of a new family to love.
