Labradors have many good traits that make them great pets; some have more than others. GiGi is on the “more” side and could be a poster dog for why Labs are one of the most popular breeds in America. She is optimistic, willing, enthusiastic, pure-hearted, and a friend to all.  Her forever home is not new to Safe Harbor Labs, which helps bring out the best in this yellow seven-year-old.  If you run into GiGi, dog sister Luna and human, Erica, be prepared for a canine close talker because GiGi is a friend to all.

Erica gave us some details of life with GiGi:

I have renamed my new rescue GiGi.  Kudos to her Foster Mother Doris! GiGi is a wonderful girl, follows me from room to room, very happy with me, as I am with her!

GiGi is getting lots of exercise, walking miles each day (between incessant rainstorms!) and getting fit! She loves the car and visiting other friends’ houses!

GiGi has a sister, Weimaraner Luna, and they have bonded well with each other! No sharing of food but sharing of beds is acceptable!

GiGi knows her new name and has had a refresher course in “heel” “sit” “stay” and “come!” Good on sit, and “heel” on leash, the others still need work as she will occasionally “escape” the premise and go walk about to the neighbors! I am installing a gate to solve that issue! GiGi is friendly and loving and just assumes that everybody needs to see her up close! She loves to roll over for belly rubs!

I am very happy to have adopted my third yellow Lab companion from SHLR. She is a lovely girl!

Thank you to Doris for Fostering and Facilitating!
