Two-year-old Jay had to take the long way home to get from foster to forever. He is now back on all four paws and enjoying his brand new life with Diana and Jesse. We recently received a note and some family photos from Jay, letting us know that his new home was definitely well worth the wait.

Jay is such a good boy and wanted to share his story and send a thank you to all the wonderful folks who helped him along the way:

“Hello, my name is Jay! I’ve been through a lot of ‘ruff’ stuff in my first couple of years on Earth. After plenty of visits with the nice doctors and physical therapists, I’ve finally found my furever family. Once I finished up my rehab living with my CO ‘grandparents,’ I moved to sunny CA to live with my mom, dad and cat sister, Fifa. When I’m not cuddling on the couch, my favorite things to do are chasing the tide at the beach and hiking in the mountains. I always make sure to greet my mommy with my signature ‘I love you’ howl in the morning when she takes me out to run.

As you can see from my pictures, I’m just a little guy at only 45 lbs. They say I’m a lab mix but I think I’m a lab mixed with a lot of love! It’s almost walk time — but before I go, I would like to say thanks to SHLR, my foster families, and everybody who has supported me!”
