Gentle six-year-old Lily, a shelter stray and mom to many puppies, came to us dirty, greatly underweight, and with eye, ear, and skin infections as well as advanced dental disease. And to top it off, this poor pup had kennel cough too.
When she was spayed, our vet was concerned about the appearance of her ovaries. A pathologist found Lily had ovarian cancer, a very rare cancer in dogs. After surgery, further diagnostic work fortunately revealed she was cancer free. Feeling much better after antibiotics for her various infections and a dental to brighten her smile, she became an eager eater and put on much needed weight. Next stop: her forever home!
Our veterinary partner for Lily’s veterinary care is Alameda East Veterinary Hospital.
