We said goodbye to our sweet Maddie on 9/20/17 after eight fun years together. In 2008, Maddie required TPLO knee surgery before she could be adopted. A veterinarian donated the surgery for Safe Harbor, and Maddie was rehabbed and fostered by volunteer Chris McKeon. We’ve always been grateful for this sacrifice (TPLO rehab is tough!), because Maddie was a terrific dog.
She loved people, loved hiking, was kind and smart…she knew so many English words, including “pizza” and “frozen green beans” (her favorite treat). We gave up spelling words around her, and switched to French because she caught on so fast! Thank you, Safe Harbor and volunteers, for the many gifts you share. We treasured every moment that Maddie was part of our family.
