Marley (previously Pokie/Webbie) crossed The Rainbow Bridge 1/29/24. The almost 13 years I was fortunate to have him in my life were far to short after all you wonderful folks did to give a wonderful puppy his second chance after his inclusion with a group of rescues you all picked up from an Idaho shelter and sparing him from his scheduled euthanasia. He helped me navigate through my divorce at that time as well as his older brother Joseph in the photo who had recently lost his best friend of many years. Sadly we lost Joseph little over a year after adopting Marley, but he then went on to be the big brother to another rescued puppy we went on to adopt as well as 2 others we adopted over his good life.

He was a joy to us throughout his life. From the 4-5 mile hikes we used to go on at home in Colorado (some through feet of snow at our 8600′ elevation), to continuing them in 5-years we lived in Wyoming, and then his final years in less wintery SE Tennessee. He was the best walking partner, and miss our outings very much. While we won’t ever know for certain, we suspect may have developed some sort of sarcoma in his older age because despite being on pain medications to help him over the recent year was needing more to keep him comfortable and started slowing down on the activity he could do (his wonderful spirit was always willing but body paid for it next day). Marley was always a sweet kind gentle soul who was so very dearly loved.
