Nellie arrived as a somewhat timid Lab girl who was a little uncertain about the world around her and her place in it, but after settling in with her new mom, Megan, this lovely 2ish-year-old pup is really coming into her own.  Now that she knows she’s finally safe and loved, Nellie greets each day with a newfound confidence and enthusiasm and can’t wait to get out and about to see what adventures are waiting around the next corner.

Megan sent us an update on sweet Nellie:

Nellie has really come out of her shell in the last 2 months! At first, she seemed shy and sleepy. Now we know that is certainly not always the case! She loves meeting new friends (people and other dogs, especially small and fluffy dogs), going to the dog park, taking long walks around the neighborhood, keeping watch on the balcony and getting belly rubs. She bolts to the door when she hears my keys and usually falls over from excitement when she sees me! She is the sweetest girl and I have loved watching her personality grow.

She has been the best addition and has recently been certified as an emotional support animal for me. I can’t imagine my life without her and I’m so thankful for SHLR and Pat (her foster mom).
