Miss Bella is indeed a beauty! She appears to be a Lab-Pointer mix, is about four years old, a sleek trim 60 pounds, and comes to us as a stray from a small Utah shelter.
Bella is house trained, crate trained, well behaved in the house, and is a treat-motivated young lady who knows sit, shake, leave it, come and wait. Leash manners are pretty good. Friendly, energetic and outgoing, she enjoys both people and other dogs. Bella has a high prey drive and can enthusiastically clear a yard of any bunnies and squirrels in record time. Cats most likely would prefer she live elsewhere.
Bella’s foster mom tells us:
“Bella adapted quickly and easily to our home and schedule. She listens well and seems eager to please. She is very playful and wants you to play with her, too. My Golden Retriever and Bella love to play. She likes squeaky toys more than balls. Shaking and unstuffing plush toys is great fun! Bella is comfortable in her own fur and fairly independent, but she also likes to check in with you.
“The best home for Bella will be with an active family who regularly hikes or takes long walks and will be willing to continue with her training. Another dog would be fine, but not necessary. She must have a six foot fence. Bella has a strong prey drive and can jump quite high, especially if there is a squirrel involved. She climbed a tree in my yard to get to one, and I had to call the fire department to help get her down – they all had a good laugh! So no climb-able trees in her new home.
“All in all I enjoy how she’s kind of goofy, eager to please, and overall quite well mannered.”
