Hey there! I’m Heath and if you’re on the lookout for a good natured four-legged friend to love and share adventures with, I just might be the one you’ve been wishing and hoping to find! In all modesty, I’m a handsome fox red Lab, a perfect age at about 5.5 years, and a trim 67 pounds. Someone was caught on camera dumping me at property in rural Texas! Can you believe it? They took me to a shelter and then Safe Harbor’s rescue partner saved me from there.
Heath’s foster mom reports he’s a lovely guest: house trained, crate trained, fine with free roam of the home if all the goodies on the kitchen counter and trash are put away. He loves treats and has shown off his sit so far. Like a typical Lab, Heath is very friendly. He gets along with other dogs, not sure about cats. Our boy relishes long walks, but when he spies bunnies hold on tight! “Gotta get those critters!” he woofs with great enthusiasm. Heath will do best with a family that is comfortable working with a dog who can be strong on leash outdoors.
More from his foster mom:
“Heath is a true gem! He could be a great dog for almost anyone, He’s sweet, curious, has excellent house manners and loves watching ‘Nature TV’ though a window.”
Friendly, well behaved and treat motivated . . . that’s Heath! “So, grab some treats and let’s get acquainted. I’d love to sit and stay with you forever,” wags handsome Heath.
