If you’ve been wishing and hoping to find a big hunk ‘o happy handsome Chocolate Lab love, you’re in luck . . . Milo is here! He’s about eight years old and 90 pounds. He’s truly a big, not overweight, lovable guy! Milo came to us an abandoned stray from an overcrowded Utah shelter where white muzzled senior pups are overlooked, no matter how huge their adorable smile and heart might be.
When we asked Milo’s foster mom what she liked best about Milo, she told us, “He’s a big sweet loving goofball that just wants to be loved and part of the family. Loves belly rubs and toys. He’s very loving and as he settles in, he is more and more willing to please each day. He follows me or my husband around most of the time. He is curious about everything!”
Milo is house trained, crate trained, loves treats and is happy to demo his sit, stay and down for a tidbit. He loves people and, as a big guy who doesn’t quite realize his size, he’s working on tempering his enthusiasm when greeting people. Milo rides nicely in the car and walks pretty well on leash with a front clip type harness. Hold on if he spies a squirrel! Other dogs find him an easy going pal; we don’t know about cats. People are his definite favorite and he loves hearing he’s a “good boy”. Milo is a Lab who’s comfortable in his own fur and can have a mind of his own at times.
His foster mom adds:
“Milo wants to have something in his mouth all the time. He has plenty of toys but loves variety so everything in the house and yard are game to him to carry around. He’s proficient counter surfer . . . getting better, but still surfing if anything is left out. He’s good about staying off the furniture, sleeps nicely in his bed at night and doesn’t have any food or toy issues with our dog.
“The best forever home for Milo? Someone who is a lover of big Labs, is consistent in their expectations and willing to continue to kindly work with him. He is fine with other dogs but really doesn’t care about them. Milo loves people and is very affectionate.”
NOTE: Milo is a big Lab and does jump on people (he’s working on it!), so probably no kids.
