Looking for an easy going best friend? “Hey, so am I!” wags 2.5 year old Pluto. He’s about 2.5 years old and, after spending 5 months in a shelter overlooked as just another stray black dog, he came to us a thin 61 pounds. Our vet said about 68 would be best.
Pluto is house trained and loves his crate. He knows sit so far, is a low key friendly greeter, a delightful passenger in the car and a leisurely sniffer on leash walks. Pluto is a comfortable in his own fur and gets along well with other dogs; cats prefer he live elsewhere. He’s not much into toys and retrieving at this point, but loves a car ride and walks!
His foster mom tells us more:
“Pluto is very sweet and low-keyed, isn’t demanding, and seems fine when I am doing other things like yardwork, or gone.
“It’s funny the objects that get him on alert, growling and barking (with his tail wagging!), like a ‘surprise watering can’ or weird lamp out in the road! Once he figures it out he’s fine,
“He is a very mellow, non-obtrusive dog, who walks well, is mild-mannered and really likes to hang out in his crate. Pluto seems independent and comfortable doing his own thing, but likes to know where I am too. He enjoys a rub, but is not demanding. All in all, he seems like a good boy and a really nice laid back companion.
“The best home? Maybe where he doesn’t have to be active all the time, can do his thing, hang out with his people. Not sure if he would be the same with another dog around, but seems happy to go for rides, walks, and generally hang out.”
No need to go to the far end of the Solar System to find a best friend. Pluto, right here on Earth, is waiting just for you!
