Tom, with his endearing grey muzzle, is a calm, affectionate and delightful good-natured Lab who has stolen the heart of everyone he’s met. He is about 10 years old and weighs in at 58 pounds.
Believe it or not, he was abandoned with another Lab (who has been adopted) at a popular recreation area. From there he ended up in a shelter where his chances for adoption as an older pup, in need of a bath and some medical attention, were slim. Many kind people helped with his rescue, including a pilot who flew him on his private plane.
Tom is living the good life with his foster dad where this expert snooze-meister is a welcome easy going guest. He’s house trained, fine with free roam of the home when you are away, and knows sit and stay. Tom rides quietly in the car, is a polite greeter who has never met a stranger, and, as an easy going fellow, gets along well with other dogs. Not sure about cats. He loves spending time outside, going to the park, napping on the sofa, and is a big fans of treats which he takes gently. Toys and retrieving? “I’d rather have a snack and a nap!” he wags.
Like may senior Labs, Tom has some arthritis so takes a daily medication to help his comfort on leisurely daily walks, which he loves. We also treated Tom to a much needed dental to remove painful neglected teeth and to brighten up his smile
The best home for Tom? His foster dad replies, “A family that would love to welcome a sweet, gentle, lazy older Lab who is slightly lame and sleeps a lot, and who looks forward to a gentle daily walk.”
