As white as snow, sweet Miss Snowball arrived from Arkansas on a snowy January day after an urgent request to rescue her from a small vet clinic where she was unwanted. A senior girl, she was somewhere between 10-14 years old and had spent at least the last four years of her life in a cage as a blood donor at that vet clinic. We were aghast at how astoundingly neglected she was, but we were relieved she was with us. Snowball was a thin 39 pounds under her heavy coat, head shy, anxious, had severe ear infections, dental disease and neurological issues that made walking difficult. She was surrounded by warmth and love in her hospice home until she went to Heaven cradled in the loving arms of her hospice mom and dad.
