The newest star in Heidi and Jack’s home is …Star. This Star is a lovely and lovable chocolate Lab girl who has snuggled right in and quickly become a cherished family member and friend to all.
Star’s new parents tell us:
We were lucky enough to meet and adopt Star from Safe Harbor Rescue late November 2019. Star is a one-year-old beautiful dark chocolate Lab mix who from the start was all wiggles and love. Now she is officially part of the pack and we are sooooo happy to have her as part of our family. She has bonded with her Golden Retriever sister Zuma, her Pug brother Sparky and has also been great with our one-legged bird Uno. As a Lab, she is true to form – sweet, playful, snuggly, cuddly, great with kids and other dogs, etc. Our twelve-year-old daughter has taken it upon herself to do some leash training work with Star and thinks Star would be great at agility – and even wants to pursue further training. Star has also met many new friends at the dog park – everyone who meets her loves her. We are also looking forward to the summer months, for more hikes, swimming, and new adventures. Star is beautiful – inside and out!
I also wanted to thank Safe Harbor for the wonderful and important work they do. I can only imagine what it takes to coordinate and fund all the work that goes into finding just one of these sweet creatures a wonderful home (the travel, the vet bills, the fostering, the application process – WOW!). The experience with Safe Harbor Rescue was incredible from the start to the end. They were responsive, timely and the foster family was so wonderful really going out of their way to make sure Star found a good home!!!!
I’m thrilled to say Star has found her forever home – filled with lots of love, hugs, kisses, playtime, scratches and of course yummy treats!
