It’s so difficult to describe our too-short time with our beloved Labs. I adopted beautiful Zoe in 2016 from SHLR when she was five years old, and we bonded instantly.
Although she was a solid 75 pounds I came to start calling her “Little Zoe”, and she was my constant and very loyal companion in daily life and on so many fun outdoor adventures. She knew that the phrase, “Let’s go play!” meant playing fetch—her favorite! After a quick lesson in a pool she loved swimming and would retrieve her water toy all day if I’d let her. She equally loved the snow & was always a great hiking partner in every season in our Colorado mountains. One of her best road trips was to Oregon where she got to experience her first swim in the ocean followed by good rolls in the sand.
Above all, Zoe was a sweet and gentle spirit who loved everyone and could make me laugh everyday with her goofy Lab personality. She could make bad days good, and good days even better. She was a featured dog several times in the SHLR calendar of which we’re very proud.
Zoe passed somewhat unexpectedly on March 11, 2024 a few months shy of her 13th birthday. Although we’re so saddened by her passing and feel her absence daily, we have so many great memories of our time together, and we’re happy knowing that she enjoyed a full and loving life. We’ll always have you in our hearts, Zoe! Thank you to SHLR for helping us find each other!
