Lab Fest 2009 2009 Lab Fest was a tail waggin' success! Thank you to all the Lab Lovers, and Labs too, who joined in the fun on that beautiful fall day. A special "Thank You!" to our generous sponsors.
Happy Endings video — prepared by one of our SHLR volunteers. Enjoy!
April 2008 - Bath Day 2008 was a splashing success!
July 2007 - Safe Harbor Labs are a "Hit" at Paws in the Park!
Some doggone great baseball fans, Safe Harbor Labs and volunteers joined the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on July 23rd for the third annual "Paws in the Park" event.
The black dog snarfing the biscuit is Luna, a SHLR dog adopted by Amy Beatie. The brown dog standing is Dillon or Dylan who was adopted by Megan Mathis. The other black dog is Judy and Austin Funk's dog, Jade, who was apparently featured on T.V. and is now a celebrity, being "hounded" for paw prints now. Oh to be famous...

Bath Day 2007 Was Quite A Splashy Event!
Our Second Annual Bath Day and Bake Sale FUNdraiser proved to be even more successful than last year's!
In addition to seeing some of our "alumni" Labs, we made many new friends and sent dogs home squeaky clean and owners home with wonderful homemade baked items.
We would like to thank Sage Valley Pet Center for hosting this event, Starbucks, King Soopers, Petco, Papa Murphy's Pizza and Westwood Nails for contributing refreshments and raffle basket items, and our wonderful volunteers and supporters, including GRRR and Arvada West Veterinary Hospital for contributing tasty baked goods.
Thank you everyone, for making this fun event a huge success!
Forever Home Foster Workshop
Laura and Foster Success Story "Pepper"
Laura Brody, certified animal behaviorist, trainer and owner of Good Family Dog, recently donated her time and expertise to give a 2 hour “Forever Home Workshop” for our Foster Families. She taught them basic skills to help make their foster Labs: "The Most Adoptable Dog in the World."
Laura’s workshop equipped over a dozen of our fosters with the positive training skills and right tools needed to teach the secrets of getting their rescued foster Lab to greet people politely and walk nicely on a leash. Laura helped fosters with a host of questions ranging from paying attention to how to put on a Gentle Leader to food bowl aggression to barking to crate training. Everyone benefited tremendously!
The Labs’ favorite exercise was seeing how many treats their foster parent could deliver in 15 seconds!
Lab Fest 2006
The 2006 Annual Safe Harbor Labfest was held at City Bark, on breezy, sunny Fall day. The Labs found it perfect swimming weather; the pool churned and overflowed with enthusiastic swimmers and ball chasers. Soggy, happy tail wagging Labs were everywhere!
Adopters, friends and volunteers, fortified with a tasty barbecue, refreshed with "Laughing Lab Scottish Ale" and energized by the Labs, made the Silent Auction filled with an exciting variety of donated items, a huge success. Lab inspired jewelry, art work, beautiful living trees, Bronco and Rockies tickets, gourmet and designer dog goodies, an incredible variety of gift baskets and getaway packages were just a few of the irresistible things to tempt the good natured, generous bidders.
The Labs all send their heartfelt "THANK YOU!" for the fun, but most of all for the funds raised to help save the lives of their fellow Labs.
