We receive multiple applications for each of our dogs which keeps our Adoption Coordinators very busy. One way you can volunteer for Safe Harbor Lab Rescue without leaving your home is by helping our coordinators do Adoption Application “reference checks”. Each of our potential adopters needs to provide us with two personal references and a Vet reference. Your role as a “reference checker” is to call the applicants references, summarize findings and give an opinion on the suitability of the applicant to adopt of our Rescued Labs. Guidelines are provided to you and our Adoption Coordinators are always available if you have any questions. Time commitment averages around 15 minutes per application.
On occasion we may need volunteers to help us “show” one of our Rescued Labs to the approved adopter. This is the last step before a Rescued Lab goes home with their new family.
If you are interested in volunteering for the Adoption Team, please fill out the Volunteer Form and one of our Adoption Coordinators will contact you to discuss next steps.
