Twelve-year-old Midas arrived at small shelter as a stray and very dirty, but neither could hide his cheerful, kind, and gentle personality. His back legs were stiff and he had a tennis ball lump on his side. Our vet found the lump was benign, and prescribed meds for his arthritis. Of greater concern was an abdominal mass confirmed by an ultrasound to be a large tumor on his spleen. After an hour-long surgery, a five-pound mass was removed.
We discovered and addressed other challenging health issues including laryngeal paralysis, and endocrine and persistent GI issues. Midas was comfortable, happy, and charmed his most attentive and caring hospice mom every single day of their year together.
