Franny is a black beauty enjoying her mid-life career change.  This empty-nester is learning to think of herself and have fun as a family companion dog after being a caring mother in her previous life as a breeder.  Of course, old habits can be hard to kick, and she treats her new toys with the gentle care a puppy requires.  Franny is teaching her new forever family that there is always time to learn new things, especially with a willing attitude.

Here is an update:

Franny puts a smile on our faces every day. She came into our life the same month we lost our 13-year-old Lab, Tater. She is very sweet and affectionate and likes to cuddle on the bed. Adjusting to house life after living in a dog kennel environment has some challenges, but each day brings improvement and a little more trust in us. She is new to squeaky and plush toys and likes to hoard them in her crate and treat them like they are her puppies. We can only imagine she was an outstanding mama in her past life. Initially the car was a bit scary, but now she knows she can go to fun places. Her favorite is the trail behind our house where she and her yellow Lab sister, 11-year-old Lolly, run off leash in the snow. She is friendly to every dog and human she meets on our walks. At age six, Franny is a youngster and injects some youth into Lolly. A typical Lab, food is a big thing in her life. We introduced her to fruit, and now she loves some banana for a treat. She prefers to get her hydration from snow rather than the water bowl and comes inside with a dusting of white snow on her black snout. She is a delight; we are thrilled she is part of our family.

Thanks to Mark for fostering and facilitating Franny!
