When six-year-old Ella walked into Aimee and Dick’s house, she looked around and saw all the comforts of home, including soft furniture, plenty of dog bowls, a full cookie jar, and a big backyard ready to host doggie playdates, naps in the sun, or big zoomie parties; and she knew she had come to the right place. Most importantly, her new home came fully furnished with the best set of forever parents a lovely Lab girl could ever hope for.  As she let out a sigh of relief and reflected on her good fortune, Ella made a solemn vow to show her gratitude by making sure that the beautiful backyard always remained squirrel-free.  At last report, it sounds as if Ella has been faithfully keeping that promise.
Ella’s new parents tell us:
Our sweet, Ella the Barbarian has been with us for two months and she has been a joy every day. We were not quite sure what to expect from this little brown girl. Ella was brought from Texas and we knew she was a recent mama but do not know the rest of her story. We wanted to make sure she felt comfortable in her new home. Ella immediately fit right in and has figured out the routine very quickly. She has embraced every activity with enthusiasm: walks, cookie time, racing around the yard with Ranger, car rides, snuggles with family, patrolling her new yard, and nuzzling Frank the cat to say good morning.
Our petite little girl has such sweet manners and follows her family around the house to see what they are doing and if she needs to assist. We call her our busy bee. Ella has adopted every member of her family with full Ella enthusiasm-yes, she will hug you. She eats like a labrador and can nap with the best of them. Ella loves to play and she has figured out that if she lets go of the ball, we will throw it again.
However, when it is time to patrol for squirrels, our sweet little flower turns into Ella the Barbarian. She shoots out of the back door like a rocket. With astonishing speed, and all-terrain agility, she leaps up onto the rocks to assure no squirrels have dared to venture into her yard. We have not seen a squirrel in the grapevines for a couple weeks now-mission accomplished!
We are thoroughly enjoying our new addition and looking forward to a lot of fun and adventures with our Ella! Thank you to Marlene and the adoption team helping bring Ella to our family!
