The Marvelous Madame Moxie, who is a lady of an uncertain age (but reportedly 11ish), has had her paws full trying to look after her new mom, Kathryn, AND Queen Ernie the cat. A lesser canine might have neglected to send a courtesy note to old friends, but despite her overflowing social calendar, the distinguished and well-mannered Ms. Moxie found time to drop us a line and fill us in on her recent comings and goings:Hello SHLR Ms Moxie Marie here – my new forever home is gang busters. It has taken me a while to trust I’m not going to be moved again, BUT I’m pleased to say I’m feeling pretty secure lately! I get to walk every day in the early-early morning (the best time ever!), take rides in the car, made some doggie friends, Mom’s friends adore me, help garden and I’m a champ at squirrel patrol in the awesome (well shaded) backyard! I have sleeping beds in the living room, the office, and the bedroom! I’ve refined some of my commands and am learning how to take KD treats with gentle mouth and not like a snapping shark. I was already a well behaved gal but am improving even more as I feel more and more secure. I like my new Mom a lot and am figuring out how to deal with the often-crabby cat and because I’m so well behaved I frequently hear: Good Dog Miss Moxie Marie, good dog, good dog, good dog, good dog! This is truly the best retirement EVER for me as an older canine. AND I’m down to a svelte 80 lbs from my 90 lbs when I arrived.
Many thanks to Donna and Ted for fostering Moxie, and thanks and congratulations(!) to Kathryn G. for also fostering Moxie and then making all of her dreams come true!
