After a tough start in life, five-year-old Allie Rose is now home to stay and living the Lab dream with her new mom, Kimberley, and a wonderful assortment of new family and friends.

Kimberely sent us an update on her delightful and much-adored new pup:

Our family is OVER THE MOON with the addition of this beautiful, sometimes shy, sometimes scared, emergingley courageous little black lab. Working with the staff at SHLR and our friend Connie (who often medically fosters SHLR Labs) we were able to share with them what we were seeking in our new family member.  “Abbey” had a bit of a rough go before SHLR rescued her, but has turned out to be our perfect fit.  Now renamed Allie Rose, she is our dream come true whose behavior is calm, extremely affectionate, still a bit timid with new people, curious, great with kids and adventuresome. She’s been camping with us and loves the RV, has begun training as my companion during visits to assisted living homes and quickly developed the reputation among extended family members, neighbors, friends and others as “the sweetest” dog they have ever met. And the best part……she’s OURS!  Thank you, Safe Harbor, for bringing her to us.

Many thanks to Connie for fostering Allie Rose/Abbey!
