Sometimes a new dog comes along and blends perfectly into your home and family as if she has always been there.  As soon as Judy and Douglas met Ms. Bella, they knew this 1.5-year-old beauty was the pup for them, and she has spent every day ever since proving them right and showing her new family what a very, very, good girl she is.

Bella’s new parents sent us an update:

After many months of looking for our perfect dog, we found Safe Harbor Lab Rescue.  I sent in an application after seeing another lab on the site and found out she was spoken for.  About a week later we received an email about Bella, and she seemed perfect.  We went to meet her at the foster home and one look and we knew she would fit into our home perfectly.  And come to find out her birthday is exactly the same day as my mom’s, just 100 years different.  She is smart, beautiful, sweet and so loving.  She will put her head on your shoulder and snuggle up for hours.  Because she was still being treated for heartworms, we had to limit her on her activity.  Now that she is past that she loves to take daily walks, play with her favorite toys and just be a great dog.

Bella already knew many of the normal commands and we are currently teaching her walking manners like heeling.  Next on the list is some more socialization but she loves when people come to visit and she very good at not jumping up on out visitors.  She also is not a barker so when she does bark we know it is for a very good reason.  We are beyond thrilled with our girl, and she is great company for us senior citizens and a great comfort for my husband that is recovering from a stroke.

Many thanks to Sam and Jen for fostering Betty/Bella!
