Bonnie, Hal, and Darby recently welcomed ten-year-old Bodie into their family. Bodie is as dapper and handsome a Lab gent as you’ll ever hope to meet, although rumor has it that beneath that distinguished exterior beats the heart of an endearingly goofy pup.
Bonnie tells their story:
Bodie aka THE BODINATOR came into my life unexpectedly, but I am incredibly happy he did.
On November 27th, 2024, lil “heart” dog Tully a.k.a. THE TULLINATOR died very expectedly on his daily morning walk. Tully was just 12 years old and Darby a.k.a. THE DARBINATOR and I were devastated. I knew Darby wanted a puppy pal, of course. But, after some soul searching, it was decided and Darby agreed to another grandpa doggie. There were a few senior SHLR dogs available at the time and Bodie was top of the list. At our meet and greet in Niwot, he became “good” (a.k.a. let me check out that dog in a most familiar of ways) friends and came to his forever Denver home. Bodie settled in quickly, sleeping a lot the first week or so and getting the lay of the land. Bodie was on medication for seizures which we were fairly certain he did not even need. So, he was slowly weaned off.
BODINATOR is the sweetest goofiest lab you could meet. His tail is almost always in motion in typical lab fashion except when he is fast asleep snoring like a sailor. He loves his tummy rubs and does not miss a nugget of food. He loves snow, walks, hikes, ALL dogs, ALL people, all of his many beds, and his big new backyard where he has full run and loves talking to the doggies and people on the Highline Canal trail. Thank you SHLR for giving Bodie a second chance to live his best senior doggie life.
Many thanks to Sarah and Steve for fostering Bodie!
