Canyon was just five months old when she arrived at her new home and has since fit into her new family like a missing puzzle piece. Canyon’s rags to riches journey brought her from the life of a scared, unwanted, stray pup to being a lady of the manor, helping to oversee her house and grounds, as well as being the very proud owner of new parents, Ginger and Stanley, a dog sister, Echo, and even a new kitty named Gracie. Sweet, lovely Canyon is now a very rich girl, indeed.
Canyon’s parents tell us:
We are so happy that Canyon is part of our family, and we are 100% certain that she was meant to be with us. Canyon had a rough start to life, she feared everything when we first met but she is doing very well now. She quickly found the toy/bone basket and currently likes to carry around her fishy and her ducky. She likes to play with her older sister, Echo and her kitty, Gracie. We have been slowly introducing her to our local 140-acre dog park. She and Echo spend their days “working” alongside their dad as he cares for the property. She is learning how to live a domestic life and what is good to eat and what isn’t. Scrambled eggs and treats are good, computers are bad. She is a really good licker and especially loves to lick us.
Canyon is a great puppy and is going to be a wonderful dog. It was a long journey from Texas to Colorado and then finally to New Mexico but we finally found each other and we love each other very much. Thank you to everyone that helped her find us from the person that initially saved her to everyone at the rescue in Texas and at SHLR, especially Kathy M. for helping us through the adoption process.
