Longtime Safe Harbor volunteers, Marlene and Bill, added a beautiful pup named Cooper to their family last summer, and it’s hard to say who’s happier. Cooper proudly takes his place as the latest lucky SHLR chocolate Lab to join this fabulous, active family, and he has a lifetime of love, fun, and great adventures to look forward to.

We caught up with Cooper’s parents shortly after he arrived, and they filled us in on their new addition:

We adopted Cooper about a month ago and he has brought so much joy to our lives in a short time. We were grieving the loss of Hayden, our SHLR alumni, when we heard about Cooper. We weren’t sure if we were ready for a new lab yet but there was something about his eyes that drew me in and we had to meet him. Needless to say, it was love at first sight! Cooper has some big paws to fill and so far is doing a great job.

Cooper is relatively calm for an eight month old puppy but can easily be persuaded to go for a walk or a car ride. He’s been up to our mountain cabin and would like to declare that his full-time home — so many lakes to chase waves on and sniffs to smell. He has fit perfectly into our lives and we cannot wait for many more years with him!
