One day when you’re not looking, an adorable four-legged, tail-wagging, brown-eyed girl may come along and steal your heart.  And that’s how the lovely Miss Daisy came to be the newest member of Royce and Laura’s family.
Daisy’s parents sent us an update on their new pup:
After our 12-year-old yellow Lab, Caley (also from SHLR) crossed the Rainbow Bridge in September, 2024 we planned to take some “time off” before considering adopting again.  Long story short, Daisy had other plans and came to live with us in October.  She’s 65 pounds of one-year-old Labrador delight, still very full of high energy puppy-ness.
Daisy loves to chase and retrieve balls, which she does regularly at a nearby open space.  She graduated basic obedience class, though we are still trying to curb her “counter surfing” habits.  She’s pretty sure that any food left unattended for even seconds is hers.  Daisy gets along great with other dogs and loves to play with a select few at the dog park.
We feel very lucky that Daisy found us, and we are enjoying her immensely.  She’s a very sweet girl and is so eager to please.  We could have renamed her “Shadow” because she’s always next to one of us.  And that’s fine with us!
Daisy came on the scene so quickly that Alameda East took care of the fostering for a few days before she could be spayed and come to her new home.  Thanks to the nice folks over there, and to all of the wonderful people at SHLR!
