Denver is now a Dallas denizen and full-fledged city boy, and he’s loving everything about his new life with Brooke. While this handsome 1.5-year-old chocolate chap is thoroughly enjoying his adopted ‘hometown,’ he tells us that he would happily follow his new mom anywhere.
Brooke sent us an update on life with Denver:
I adopted Denver, a chocolate Lab the beginning of 2026 and he has brought so much energy and joy into my life since. I first met him in Colorado while I was looking for a way to bring a little piece of it back home with me to Dallas when I was visiting for the holidays and what better way than a chocolate lab named Denver. From that moment, I knew he was the one.
When I adopted Denver, he was training with the Dog Wizard and fresh out of a board-and-train program. I was so excited to continue working with him, and he’s now a total pro—his recall, sit, heel… all of it. He’s even continued his training here in Dallas, where he’s picked up even more skills along the way with the Dog Wizard down here.
Denver has fully embraced city life and made it his own. He loves long walks around town, running freely at the park chasing his favorite red ball, and never turns down a patio meal usually acting like every patio is his while the waiters bring him treats.
He’s the perfect mix of energetic and affectionate a true cuddle bug with a big personality. To this day, he greets both new visitors and familiar friends with his signature “tappy toes,” a little reminder of the joy he carries everywhere he goes.

I’m so thankful to Janet and Tori from the Dog Wizard for helping shape him into the incredible dog he is, and to Safe Harbor Lab Rescue for not only saving Denver’s life, but changing mine by bringing him into it. I can’t imagine this chapter without him, and I’m so excited for all the memories ahead.
Many thanks to Linda B. for fostering Denver!
