Molly has a shiny new name to go with her fabulous new life! Now known as Gypsi, this three-year-old, lean and lovely lady has seamlessly slipped into the well-loved family Lab life with the help of her new parents, Keni and Skip, and new canine sis, Gabi. “Who knew there was so much fun to be had and so much good food to be eaten?” Gypsi woofed with a wink and a wag as she trotted off to do another loop around her big, beautiful yard.
Gypsi’s new family sent us an update on their girl:
When I met my husband 25 years ago, I had a one-year-old Golden retriever. We decided she needed a friend and we got our first Lab as a puppy. Thru the years we have always maintained this balance of one Golden and one Lab. This last year we decided to again fill our house with the two dog balance and looked to adopt a Lab of approximately equal age to our current Golden Retriever, Gabi. We wanted to do a rescue but also get a playmate/companion for her. We already had a “Molly” in our family, so we renamed her Gypsi. This beautiful brown eyed, long-legged Lab is very gentle and affectionate and came right into our house like she had always been there. We love to hear her strong tail wagging and banging against the floor and furniture. She follows us everywhere we go, especially the kitchen. She has an appetite like a lumberjack. However, she did come with a few idiosyncrasies. For example, she is very hesitant to go up or down stairs, refuses to shake hands, and slops drinking water everywhere! We are working on it. She loves to ride in the truck and always sleeps at our bedside. She loves living in the country and has a huge fenced yard for play, and when allowed to run free in the field, she has an enormous, beautiful stride and comes back when called, usually via the longer, scenic route. This is our second successful Lab adoption from Safe Harbor. Thank you again from all of us.
Many thanks to Teri fostering Gypsi/Molly!
