Homer is chocolate covered, and sweet in every way. At one-and-a-half-years old, he is still a youngster who finds that every day holds something new and exciting. After meeting Homer, Karon and Bryan thought that he might be the perfect addition to the family. Of course, they were right. Homer met his canine companion Rosalita, and the rest is history. Homer is having the time of his life! Karon and Bryan’s once quiet home, is now filled with the rambunctious joy of two Labrador Retrievers.
We asked Karon and Bryan how things are going: When Homer came home, he was called Dixon. He adapted well to the name change and responds quickly when called. Homer is thoroughly enjoying his life and his new family. Homer is much more active with his new family; dad – Bryan, mom – Karon and yellow lab sister – Rosalita as they explore their local open space parks, running in the fields and cooling off in the streams. Homer has been doing great in his new home. He is very loving and is quite the runner! Homer is starting to enjoy the water, although, he is still timid when it comes to swimming. He is a gentle giant and is excellent with Rosalita, showing her the ropes and making sure she stays safe, in big brother fashion. He loves stealing Rosalita’s toy and the chase that ensues! With the increased exercise and diet changes, Homer has lost a few pounds. A few more to go and he will be at his ideal weight. We are extremely grateful to Safe Harbor Lab Rescue for bringing Homer into our family.
