“No more travels and troubles for me!” woofs sweet Abe as he settles in for a long winter’s nap on his forever couch. After wandering the streets and landing in a shelter in another state early this year, three-year-old Abe’s luck finally began to change when he was taken in by a wonderful rescuer who cared for him through lengthy and painful heartworm treatments and helped him make his way to us. When he was on the mend and ready to hit the road, Abe packed his bags, hitched a ride, and came to Colorado to find a family to call his own. Abe had barely finished unpacking his bags when Catherine and Paul came to meet him at his foster home, and this gorgeous pup couldn’t have been happier when he learned that he would be joining them for the ride home.
Abe’s new parents sent us an update on their boy:
Abe, who we have named Luke, is doing great! We absolutely love him. He is such a good boy. He loves going on walks, car rides, and just about anywhere. We have taken him to the store for his food, the park and to the brewery a couple of times. He loves all people large and small and greets them nicely. Luke loves to snuggle on the couch in your lap if possible. He is learning about stairs, walking up while trying to keep all four feet on one stair causing him to zig zag all the way up. He gets there though. Luke doesn’t know much about toys yet but is learning to play tug with a rope. He likes to bury his bones in the yard or hide them between the cushions on the couch. Then he covers them with his blanket and other toys.
Thank you so much for this beautiful and sweet Lab. He is perfect!
