We were privileged to be Maile’s (Maya) guardians for 13 years. We adopted her when she was 9 months old. Her foster mother called her the “White Tornado,” she lived up to that nickname for the first year we had her and then she settled once we adopted Tanner. She destroyed lots of stuff but boy did we love her anyway. She was sweet, eager and loved adventure in the mountains.

She crossed the rainbow bridge on Sunday October 7th in front of a fire with Randy and I there with her telling her how much we loved her and how missed she will be.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma that had spread to her chest and her spinal neuropathy had already made it very difficult for her to walk at all.

We loved her so much and our hearts are broken but we are also deeply grateful that we were able to share our lives with her.
