Kathy and Chris brought a handsome two-year-old Lab named Brody home to foster while he looked for a forever home. Before long, Brody became Murphy, and it was clear he would not be packing up and moving ever again.
Murphy’s new parents tell us:
We originally agreed to foster Murphy for SHLR a few months ago. Little did we know that he had other plans….
Murphy was around 50 lbs when he first arrived in Colorado, full of happy puppy energy and the world’s longest tongue (which he will use to clean your face/neck/hair etc.) When we brought him home, he quickly bonded with our 7-year-old yellow lab named Griffin (also adopted from SHLR). We quickly realized that the two got along VERY well, and that if we were going to make the jump from a 1-dog household to a 2-dog household, Murphy would be that dog. So we did!
Murphy is a goofy and happy boy, with ridiculous amounts of energy. He loves to sit under the trees in our backyard and watch the squirrels, then will pivot to wrestling/playing chase with Griffin. He loves to run at the dog park. He will occasionally sneak a sock or towel from the laundry basket and try to take it outside! After all of that playing, Murphy sleeps hard: he will cuddle up next to you on the sofa while watching tv and will snore like he is running a chainsaw! We still need to work on Murphy’s counter surfing habit and some basic commands, but have fallen in love with him and how easily he fits into our lives. We hit the jackpot with Murphy-a perfect addition to our family!
Thank you to Kathy, Chris, and Griffin for fostering Murphy and letting him know he was home to stay. Congratulations to all four of you!
