Abby and Allen tell us:
Red (Redford) aka Rocco has been such a wonderful addition to our family! The first few days with Red were a bit “ruff” as we adjusted to having a very large, energetic puppy with minimal training – like a toddler, he was into everything and even learned how to open doors! Thankfully, our neighbor, who is a dog trainer, provided us with some great tools to help redirect Red’s energy into positive behavior. He also went through a five-week training program and quickly proved to be incredibly smart and a fast learner!

Red is such a goofy, sweet boy. Everyone he meets—whether they have two legs or four—quickly becomes his friend. His best buddy lives across the street, they have the best mid-day playdates, chasing each other and wrestling. He also adores our 13-year-old dog, Lexie. She’s a little more reserved with him, but every now and then she’ll show him some affection in return.
Red loves going on outings (though he’s not a big fan of the car). His favorite trips are to our kids’ sporting events, where he always gets tons of attention and praise. He never seems to tire of hearing how “handsome” and “good” he is!

Red has no concept of personal space, but honestly, no one in the family minds. We love that he’s happiest when curled up on top of us—we love it too and wouldn’t have it any other way!
We are so thankful Safe Harbor chose us to be Red’s forever family, we can’t imagine life without him!
Many thanks to everyone at Rover’s Stay and Play for fostering Rocco and to Cathy O. for facilitating the adoption!
