When Turbo arrived at his new home he was greeted by Nancy, Leonard, and Ginger the Lab, with big smiles, open arms and prancing paws. The resident cats had planned to join the welcoming committee but after taking this four-legged newcomer’s measure, they wisely decided to give him a little time to settle in and settle down before formally making his acquaintance.  Six-year-old Turbo is such a cheery and enthusiastic pup that even his tail is turbocharged, and he’s having the time of his life running, hiking, and exploring the beautiful neighboring terrain every day with his best girl, Ginger, and his fabulous new parents.

Nancy and Leonard sent us an update on their new boy:

On May 14th 2025 we added Turbo (aka Kobi) to our household.  What a blessing that has been.  Turbo is 6 years old  and the happiest guy.  His overly large tail hardly ever stops wagging and he makes us laugh all the time.  He and our 11 year old SHLR rescue Ginger became best buddies instantly.  Turbo did come with some baggage.  He is more timid with men. He chased our 2 cats, had separation anxiety and surprise, surprise, wouldn’t even put his toenails in any type of water.  We are happy to report that he is more confident around new men, he and the cats are more comfortable with each other, is gradually improving with the separation anxiety and now goes into water up to his chest.  This has been a time of giving and receiving tons of love.  Luckily he is very food motivated and smart.  He has an almost perfect and happy recall so has been off leash since the beginning of May.  We do have GPS collars for both dogs but they both stay close anyway.  Both of them can hardly wait for their morning run on trails or cross country.  Then It’s time to relax on our deck or in the large back yard.  We absolutely love Turbo and can’t thank you enough for letting us add him to our home.

Many thanks to Gay for fostering Turbo/Kobi!
